Dwayne Anthony Martin "Duck" departed this life on October 25, 2021 at Regional Medical Center in Alexander, LA. He was 54 years old. A native of Harvey, LA later relocated to Marksville, LA. Son of Patricia Martin and the late Joseph Martin; Brother of Lynette Martin and Contaka Wire; Beloved Companion of Tynia Williams; Loving father of Laquasha Mickel, Lataysha Mickel, Dwayne smith, Lavelle Smith, Dajonic smith and David Williams. He is also survived by 2 nieces Kendra Martin and Deiondra Martin, 1 nephew Dailon Christian; 13 grandchildren Kayden Sweet, Rayshaun Sweet, Kayla Sweet, Quashaun Sweet, Rico Lovett, Nuriah Mickel, Nurin Dmith, Dwayne Clark, Eljha Clark, Angel Smith, Justus Smith, Lyrik Smith, and Leilani Smith along with a host of aunts, uncles, cousins other relatives and friends.
Dwayne accepted Christ and was baptized at Evening Star Baptist Church under the late Pastor John Francis. He later joined Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church under the late Pastor John A. Brooks, Sr. His favorite scripture was the 23rd Psalms. His favorite songs were He's Gonna Wipe All Your Tears Away and Take Me to The King just to name a few. Dwayne attended West Jefferson High School of Harvey, LA.
He was the funniest, caring, best chicken fryer, bugaloo king (Old school dance) and the life of the party or family functions. His unforgettable spirit and entertaining stories will remain in our hearts forever.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Service at 10:00 am on Friday November 5, 2021 at Rhodes Funeral Home, 1020 Virgil Street, Gretna, LA 70056. Visitation will be from 9:00 am to 10:00 am. Internment: Evening Star Cemetery, 817 Grefer Ave., Harvey, LA. Arrangements were entrusted to D. W. Rhodes Funeral Homes.
