Doris Soupenne Ellsworth entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, March 6, 2018 in New Orleans, Louisiana at the age of 96. Wife of the late Paul Leon Ellsworth. Daughter of the late Emile and Cecilia Nicholas Soupenne. Mother of Patricia M. Ellsworth and Paulette E. Ancar. Mother-in-law of Clarence J. Ancar, III. Grandmother of Ashley H. Ancar and Kristin P. Ancar. Great Grandmother of Aiden Joseph McCormick. Devoted sister of Aurelia S. Rousseve. Sister-in-law of Phoebe Honore Lastrapes, Dolores P. Soupenne, Shirley and Bobby Ellsworth and Alton Rousseve. She was the loving "Auntie" of Kathleen Soupenne, Gail and Kelvin Rousseve, Brooke and Todd Soupenne and a host of Ellsworth, Marine, Rousseve, LeDuff, Honore, Frick and Claude nieces and nephews. Lifelong friend of Melba Epps and cousin of Claudia W. Claude.
Doris was preceded in death by Mother-in-law and Father-in-law, Josephine and Joseph L. Ellsworth; Brothers, Emile and Ellwood Soupenne; Sisters-in-law, Helen Soupenne, Grace Ellsworth, Agnes LeDuff, Genevieve Rousseve, Lillie Soupenne and Louise Marine; Brothers-in-law, Joseph Marine, Joseph Michael Ellsworth, Samuel Ellsworth, Lionel LeDuff, John Honore, Lloyd Rousseve and Leland Lastrapes.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at Corpus Christi/Epiphany Catholic Church, 2022 St. Bernard Avenue, New Orleans, Louisiana on Monday, March 12, 2018 from 8:00 am to 10:00 am. A Mass of Christian Burial honoring the life of Doris Ellsworth will be celebrated at 10:00 am with Fr. David Begamy presiding. Interment: St. Louis #3 Cemetery, Esplanade Avenue, New Orleans, Louisiana. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Katharine Drexel Preparatory School. Arrangements by D.W.
